Our Ethics

We pride ourselves on supplying only the best quality shellfish, salmon, and whitefish. From net to plate, we are fully engaged in all stages of the supply chain, from freshwater and marine farming to processing, filleting, and sales. This ensures the full traceability of all our fish and protects the integrity of our supply chain.

We only source from companies that practise safe and sustainable farming, are GM-free, regularly undergo stringent checks and are inspected by external regulatory bodies.

We source our salmon from the leading producers of the finest quality salmon in the remote Western Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

Bakkafrost Scotland is the only salmon producer in Europe to be awarded the four-star Best Aquaculture Practice accreditation for freshwater, marine and processing sites and for sourcing feed from BAP-certified suppliers. Their premium Global G.A.P. and ASC-certified brands are Lochander Salmon and Native Hebridean Salmon.

Hiddenfjord

Hiddenfjord is the only 100% Faroese salmon farming company whose commitment is to create a product of exceptional quality without harming the environment. It is BAP and Global G.A.P. certified.

Scrabster Harbour

We are proud to be based at Scrabster Harbour by Thurso, contributing to a long and proud fishing tradition in this port. It is a leading UK landing port for whitefish and shellfish, including brown crabs, lobsters, prawns and scallops. The harbour is open 365 days a year, ensuring fast handling and turnaround for incoming vessels. Around 1,000 fishing vessels use the port each year.

The most northerly mainland port in Scotland,  Scrabster Harbour is ideal for vessels working the fishing grounds to the North and West of Scotland, reducing journey time and the amount of fuel used and reducing carbon emissions for the fish landed.
