Our Story

Bell’s Seafood was founded in 2009 by owner David Bell. Dave grew up in the Highlands and discovered his passion for fish and seafood at the age of 27 when he began working at Scrabster Harbour. 

He saw an opportunity to get some of the amazing fish and seafood he was landing available to Highland communities and businesses. He bought a small refrigerated van and began preparing, loading, icing, and selling his fish in the local area and on Orkney, where he had a run 3 days a week.

15 years later he runs a fleet of mobile fish vans to supply whitefish and seafood, covering Caithness, Sutherland, Ross-shire, Inverness, and Moray. The company now employs 28 people based in Thurso, including 5 drivers who deliver across the region. Customers range from individuals to restaurants and hotels, all seeking the finest fresh fish and shellfish from Scotland’s famed Northern waters.
